Which makes my recording sound like ass and I have to rerecord it :(

You mean ambient noise? If you record silence, a program like Audacity can remove the background noise... just give it a sample of silence, then apply the fix to the rest and poof! you're left with however good the mic is. Nah, it's this bassy noise that sounds kinda like blowing into an empty bottle. I'm trying this new voice that I project quite loudly (peaking at half a meter from the mic) and this is the first recording that I've noticed it in. I can hear it from my speakers and laptop but not in my headphones. I'd upload it to the dump but won't allow mp3's.. EDIT: I like that link too, thanks :)
